Black Cherry, American Cherry (Prunus Serotinas) has its eartwood featured in light pinkish brown when freshly cut and will be darken to a medium reddish brown over time exposuring to light. Sapwood is creamy white. Like sapwood in Walnut, color of Cherry's sapwood can be darken when steamed. The grain is usually straight and easy to work. Has a fine, even texture with moderate natural luster.

Usage: Mouldings, furniture, doors, panelling, cabinets, musical instruments, and boat interiors.
